May 1st.
Americares is a health-focused relief and development organization that responds to people affected by poverty or disaster with life-changing medicine, medical supplies, and health programs. They helped deliver 6,000+ pounds of lifesaving personal protective equipment to our frontline fighting COVID-19 in Chicago. @Americares

April 17th.
Samaritan's Purse is a nonprofit that provides aid to the world’s poor, sick, and suffering. Their Disaster Assistance Response Team including doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel are working on the front lines. In addition to delivering critical supplies, they opened a 68-bed Emergency Field Hospital in New York's Central Park to provide critical care for people seriously ill with the coronavirus. @SamaritansPurse #NeighborsHelpingNeighbors

April 10th.
Two restaurants are keeping staff busy by making and delivering food during this time of need. BBQ Productions has a goal to feed 10k front line workers. The community is supporting their efforts by donating money. Another local restaurant is providing weekly food boxes to those in need. April 9th.
PADS Lake County is a community-based organization that provides shelter, resources, and support to people experiencing a housing crisis. Due to COVID-19, PADS has moved those in emergency shelter sites into hotels and prioritized high-risk clients. From increasing staff to meet the growing demand for services, providing accommodations, and to purchasing supplies, the PADS team needs our support. @PADSLakeCounty

April 8th.
World Vision is an international organization that works with the poor and oppressed to promote human and community-based transformation. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, World Vision has provided essentials both in the U.S. and abroad, like face masks and gloves for health workers; antibacterial soap, hand sanitizer, and emergency food for children and families; and health training to keep everyone safe.

April 7th.
St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care provides health and educational services for children and seniors and support for caregivers meeting the spiritual, psychological, social and physical needs of all. The COVID-19 crisis has put additional stress on their caregivers and like many nonprofits who provide care for our elderly, they are in need of our support to continue their critical work. #WinItTogether

April 6th.
Our first repeat commitment is to Team Rubicon. This response group unites the skills of military veterans with first responders to rapidly provide relief to communities in need. In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, they've launched #NeighborsHelpingNeighbors initiative to meet the needs of our local communities through safe acts of service. @TeamRubicon #NeighborsHelpingNeighbors

April 5th.
Our local YMCA is providing sheltering services for more than 400 homeless individuals at three of their urban centers. They are also providing Emergency Response Childcare for first responders, healthcare professionals, and other essential workers with their COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund. @YMCA #StayWithUs

April 3rd.
Northern Illinois Food Bank, our local chapter of Feeding America, provides meals to our food insecure neighbors. They turn every $1 donation into $8 of food through various partnerships and their strong volunteer network. April 2nd.
United Way is supporting communities across the world struggling to cope with COVID-19. Their funding provides the vulnerable access to food, shelter, vital information, and more through United Way’s global network. NorthShore University HealthSystem was the first to develop and deploy an in-house test for COVID-19 in the state of Illinois. Project C.U.R.E.’s mission is to strengthen health systems in under-resourced areas. They are committed to meeting the medical needs of our people who need help now – nurses, doctors, firefighters, and public servants on the front line of our fight against COVID-19. Meals on Wheels is a powerhouse movement of neighbors fighting hunger and isolation in older adults in our communities. Their volunteers deliver healthy meals, along with a side of smiles and caring to seniors, the homebound, the disabled, and veterans. They are the front lines of our defense in this fight.
